5 Best pool cleaners for fiberglass pools in 2023

Fiberglass pools are easy to maintain, which is no surprise if you own one. It takes less time and effort to maintain a fiberglass pool, and it requires fewer chemicals. Still, they needed to be cleaned.

At least 45 minutes of robotic pool cleaning time is used by many fiberglass pool owners each week. Choosing a pool cleaner is a simple matter of considering the size and frequency of cleaning your fiberglass pool. Large pools need heavy-duty robot cleaners if they need to be cleaned frequently. You can also settle for models that are designed for use at home. The following are some of my top picks:

  • Great traction
  • Works great without supervision
  • Compatible with in-ground swimming pools up to 60 ft.

F9550 can be an excellent all-purpose cleaner. It swallows debris of all sizes and rolls quietly in the straw. If you want to get ready to read a newspaper or have a cup of coffee while the pool is cleaned, take a dip in the clean water. You won’t be disappointed.

As for navigation, it uses ActiveMotion sensor technology to pinpoint the machine’s path during cleaning. The robot has a 70ft cable so it can dive deep. Polaris features Vortex Vacuum Technology that collects large debris with maximum suction for superior cleaning.

Relatively slow for beginners. Also, constantly trying to clear and retrieve the entire pool remotely can feel like an eternity to respond. So while basic cleaning he thinks is worth more than the Dolphin, it’s for these reasons that he recommends investing more money in premium equipment.

  • Can clean a pool around 50 feet long.
  • Features two filter sizes.
  • Has a scheduling feature.
  • Easy to clean cartridge.
  • Actively scrub your pool floor and walls.

This pool cleaner will help you clean your pool without hassle or mess. Superior filtration and dual scrubbing brushes let you relax while the machine does all the cleaning work. It saves energy for every pool cleaning session as it does not require additional equipment such as pumps or hoses, pressure, or suction cleaners.

The aspiration rate is about 4500 GPH. You can set three settings and intervals to clean your pool: daily, every other day, or every three days. Tangle-free cords and a 2-hour cleaning cycle make everyone’s job easier.

Dolphin Nautilus also has built-in scanning software that allows you to scan the dimensions of your pool for optimal cleaning. To help remove algae, dirt, bacteria, and biofilms, it is equipped with a system called PowerClean, which produces high RPM for deeper cleaning. In addition, the HyperGrip Tracking System has rubber tracks that grip the pool surface and walls. This allows cleaners to handle small corners and areas of the pool, such as the edge of the tannery rack.

Polaris Vac-Sweep 360 Pool Cleaner- Best value-Easily installed and works like a champ
9.4/10 Our Score
  • Adequate at cleaning particulate
  • Affordable compared to other models
  • Cleans Pool Floor & Walls
  • Cleans in less than 3 Hours
  • Easily installed and works like a champ

The Polaris Vac-Sweep 360 is a pressure pool cleaner, unlike the other two. We chose it because it enjoys a high reputation among consumers. Our tests show that the reputation is well-deserved. Like a champ, it picked up large debris like leaves and twigs and handled even small particles like sand properly. For the price, it’s a minor thing.

What it had to do was get traction with fiberglass cladding. It’s frustrating, so don’t watch it. It’s also clear that they are not above-ground fiberglass pools. You will have to find another option if you have any of these. But still, the tag-price cleaning is the best price of any model we’ve tested.

With a hook and loop closure, this bag keeps debris in your cleaning cycle and makes emptying it simple. Polaris 360 can be easily connected to a dedicated pressure line and is suitable for all in-ground pools. Clean, scrub and vacuum all pool surfaces. It also traps large debris such as leaves and gravel in its filter bag. The Polaris Vac-Sweep 360 features advanced cleaning that does not require a separate booster pump.

Buying Guides- How to Buy Best Pool Cleaners for Fiberglass Pools in 2023

In my  testing,  I was impressed that the most expensive model for cleaning fiberglass pools was the best available.

That doesn’t mean it’s the easiest for you. As a result, your purchase should be more than simply throwing away the dollar and finding the right choice. This is easier to clean than a concrete pool and does not tend to attract dirt.

If you have some cash lying around, you’ll be more than happy to toss it in the pool wreck. If so, a few things to consider to know which one applies to you.

Above or in-ground?

The first thing to consider with a fiberglass pool cleaner is whether it is an above-ground or in-ground pool. This will quickly steer you away from the Polaris Vac-Sweep 360, an affordable model unsuitable for above-ground pools. It’s better to avoid a single pool. One of these is similar to buying a car to get a gallon of milk, especially one to get around a block. There are excellent alternatives on the market.

Traction matters

Fiberglass pools are less prone to staining than concrete pools, as the ground is much less porous. This means that particles and dirt will accumulate instead of sticking to them, but pool cleaners will have difficulty keeping track of them. Care should also be taken when considering other models. Something can go completely wrong when picking up fallen leaves or gravel, but it makes little difference if your wheels are spinning due to a lack of traction.

Large pieces and small pieces

If your pool tends to be full of twigs and leaves, you’ll need to find a pool cleaner that can clean up smaller debris for larger spills. Or one that can replace the bag with a filter. That’s one of the things we like about Dolphin Premier Robotic. By quickly changing the bag’s filter, you can clean everything in your pool without hassle. If you live in the southwestern desert, you need something to handle the sand. On the other hand, if you live in Michigan, you probably have more pine needles and maple leaves.

Suction side versus pressure side versus robotics

There are three basic types of pool cleaners: robotic, pressure, and suction. Each has different advantages and disadvantages when deciding which cleaner is suitable for your fiberglass pool.

Robotic vacuum cleaners are the most expensive, most autonomous, and perform well at cleaning. Pressure side cleaners are hydraulic and do an excellent job picking up large debris. Suction-side cleaners are the most affordable, but they run on the power of the pool’s main pump, which puts a strain on them.

Depth of the Pool

Before purchasing a pool cleaner, you should consider the depth of your pool. There are two pool vacuums you should choose based on your pool depth. The first is an in-ground pool vacuum made for cleaning pools eight feet or more in-depth.

The second is an above-ground pool vacuum that can clean pools from 4 to 1/2 feet deep. Basement vacuums are very powerful and can be dangerous for above-ground pools.

Hose Dimensions

The fiberglass pool cleaner also has a hose attached to the unit. This is equally important and responsible for a thorough pool cleaning session. Therefore, you should always check the dimensions of the hose attached to your pool cleaner before finalizing your choice. Standard pool cleaning operations are performed only when the vacuum is connected to a 1.5-inch hose. Provides a good transfer area for debris to transfer. Small hose diameters trap debris inside the hose, rendering the suction pool cleaner completely useless.

Such units also require frequent maintenance, which is not an ideal situation. Another essential fact about hoses is their length. The broad range of suction pool cleaners is as long as the hose is attached. Therefore, you should choose options with longer hoses. If not, be prepared to extend the hose if needed. If you are unsure of the right length of hose for your pool, check the distance between the skimmer and the farthest corner of the pool. It would help if you also considered the depth of your pool in the formula to get a good idea.

Conclusion

It is not always true that more expensive means a better investment. In this case, it did. The pool cleaner that cost the most money – by far and away – outperformed its competitors when it came to handling fiberglass pools. The machine cleaned everything quickly.

If you follow and buy Dolphin Premier Robotic, I recommend investing in filter cartridges and bags.

The Polaris F9550 may be a good option if the price is too high. It does a great job and can go anywhere, but you’ll want to wash the steps yourself or pay a young man to do it for you.

A great alternative is the Polaris Vac-Sweep 360, a highly acclaimed pressure side cleaner, as long as you have an in-ground pool. If none of these options appeal to you, we hope our Buying Guide will help you make an informed purchase.
